My name is Samantha Nicole Traina and I have a BFA in creative writing with a specialization in publishing. I also have a MFA in comic books. I have 5 years of copy editing with several B2B magazines and several years experience copy editing for ads, brochures, and other promotional material.

Manuscript Evaluation

A manuscript evaluation is perfect for a client that wants to know if they are headed in the right direction. This is not a full developmental edit but more of an over view to make sure your manuscript has good pacing, character development, strong voice, and are meeting your genre’s expectations.

Some feedback will be given with light corrects and possible suggestions to improve if applicable. Please know that if only partial manuscripts are provided then a full analysis of plot and character development can’t be given as I haven’t been able to read the full story.

Line Editing

A line edit will focus on the structure of your paragraphs and sentences, clarity, eliminating repetitive phrasing, consistency of voice, and reviewing character and story development.

A line edit focuses on more on paragraphs and lines of your story. Think of this as the middle ground. It is not a bird’s eye view of piece that a developmental edit would be and line editing is not a in the details as much as a copy edit with grammar and spelling.

Copy Editing

This is the in depth look at your manuscript. Here I would check for spelling and grammar along with clarity and consistency of your word choice. I also am looking over your manuscript for flow and general format of the text.
